James Fletcher
James Fletcher (27) A top quality batsman, a great bowler and a horribly good looking and charming bloke, Also captain of the first team and editor of the website so there will be no mention of gravy, t'pidgeons and t'ferrets on here.
Paul Braddy
Paul Braddy (33) Former 1st team captain Paul is an attacking opening bat capable of scoring quick runs and lots of them. One half of the Braddy twins who both adopt the same approach to batting, ie. try and hit every ball out the ground. Has a decent pair of hands but a crap pair of legs.
James Mead
James Mead (29) Although only 29 Meady is one of the longest serving players currently in the squad. A talented bowler and useful lower order batsmen, although if you listened to him you'd think he should be playing for England. Formerly knicknamed "burger" during his heavier days. Once sold his cricket jumper on ebay as a sightscreen.
Gary Hefferron
Gary Hefferron - Crump (94) Mr Newport Pagnell. A legend in the town and rumoured to be the finest cricketer North Bucks has ever seen. Sets a fine example to the younger players by downing 25 pints of guinness every night. Once went to Pink Punters on a Friday night and cost us the game the next day.
Mike Page
Mike Page (41) A top quality batsman with the patience of a saint. Can be relied upon to keep his head when all around him are losing theirs. Quite often will be the last man standing, depite having opened the batting, as Newport crumble in an all to familiar collapse. 'Thank God for Pagey'.
Nick Cunniffe
Nick Cunniffe (21) Cambridge student 'Professor' Nick's main contribution to the team is in front if him. This will come in the form of administering a liver transplant to Crump to allow him to continue playing. A very good wicket keeper and opening bat and a valuable member of the team. One of the resons why we're having a successful season.
John Braddy
John Braddy (33) The better looking half of the Braddy twins, John is known for his big hitting as well as being a useful bowler. Has missed a lot of games this season due to work commitments although should maybe consider doing some more 'undercover' work on a Saturday. They won't know John.
Lewis Hefferron
Lewis Hefferron (21) Son of Crump, young Lewis may well be follwing in his father's footsteps - in the legion, not on the pitch. Very talented batsmen who is begining to score runs in division 1. Destined to be a vital member of the team for many years to come as he'll never be allowed to play for anyone else.
Shaun Van Eeden
Shaun Van Eaden (19) Newport's overseas player also currently studying at University (they let anybody in these days). Shaun is a talented all round cricketer and what he lacks in control he makes up for in enthusiasm. Has the right attitude to succeed and will no doubt be another important member of the side in the furture. Also known as the 'Scud'.
Daniel Broad
Daniel Broad (27) Son of Newport stalwart Mick. On his day Dan can be one of the best bowlers in the league, however, due to his Friday night antics that day rarely falls on a Saturday. Newport's very own Phill Tuffnell - though not quite as quick...or funny.
Trevor Stone
Trevor Stone (47) Another player who often misses games due to work commitments Trev can be a useful top order batsmen and is more than capable of steadying the ship when wickets are falling. Owns shares in William Hill.
Terry Shrieves
Terry Shrieves (47) Better known for his footballing abitilies than his cricketing ones Terry has been a valuable addition to the side in recent seasons. A useful off-spin bowler who has taken vital wickets this season in the games he's played. Well known for his excellent slection policy for Newport FC - especially when it comes to picking right sided centre halves from Scunthorpe.
Alex Sear
Joe Ramscar (30) aka "The Wall." Joe's favoutite shot is the forward defensive, which he plays better than anyone else in the team. Despite being a relative newcomer to the side has already provided some stern rear-guard action to help Newport 1st X1 salvage draws where defeats looked inevitable. Rumours are that HE is actually Monty Panasear batting buddy, not Paul Collingwood.
Alex Sear
Alex Sear (24) The most elusive man in the team. A laid back 2008 recruit from neighbours Olney who took 7 wickets on his debut against Aspley Guise but has only taken 2 since. Has the potential to be a first team regular next season if anyone can actually get in touch with him to tell him he's playing.
