| Saturday 7th August 2010: Newport Demolish Crawley... |
 |
The first team thrashed local rivals North Crawley on Saturday by 164 runs to move them off the foot of the table and dent any title ambitions of their visitors. Batting first Newport posted a competitve total of 222 with John Braddy (56), James Fletcher (53*), Mick Page (42) and Lewis Hefferon (38) the main contributors.
Their efforts however were overshadowed by a bowling performance we're unlikley ever to hear the end of. Just as it looked like his 1st team days were nearing an end veteran Gary Hefferon ripped through the North Crawley batting attack finishing with figures of 8-17 and restricting the shell-shocked Crawley to just 59 runs.
